Burgundy Chablis and RhôneAs part of the large Bichot family enterprise the group enjoys near exclusive use of the Labaume division for its principal supply of Burgundy Chablis and Rhône wines, although the Labaume offer is indeed one of four from this extensive area, promoted by the group. Six generations of the Bichot family, all their accumulated "savoir-faire" and the knowledge as both vineyard owners and shippers contribute to the confidence the group places in the vast array of wines on offer. Generic Burgundy and Beaujolais under the Labaume label, better quality red wines under the "sous-marque" Caves Auguste Moreau, a delightful selection of premier white wines under the flag of Paul Paillard as well as some special wines under Bichot's personal label all feature regularly in many Members' catalogues. At the top end of the scale some Members also offer top-notch Burgundies from some of the proud Bichot family's own personal domains. Traditions dating back to 1831 are worth further investigation at www.bichot.com. The Society of Vintners also offers our own label exclusive Chablis - "Paul Delane," a classic Chablis wine with the typical dry apple and spice flavours that beautifully accompany fish, white meat and salad dishes. |
